Surgery - 12:16 p.m. / Monday October 27th, 2008

Well tomorrow is the day, surgery.   This time it's not on the knee, the ankle, the wrist, it's on the nose.  I'm going in tomorrow for surgery to help a deviated septum.  I don't know if any body else suffers from this problem but it is the pits.  For my entire life I have not been able to get a restful night of sleep. Even if I slept and was not getting quality sleep.  To all my boys out there who have roomed with me either in college, the pros or for work, sorry for the SNORING but that will soon end.  I know I used to snore like a bear but it will all be over tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward to being able to sleep like a normal person but I am really looking forward to be able to breathe better on the field.  Let's hope everything works out and the surgery goes well.

I am really psyched to that the owner of the Dragons Mark Blake hooked me up with the New Ipod Touch with LB3 engraved on the back.  It is so sick and is going to be great for the recovery and long flights out to SF this summer.  I have lots of songs and games loaded for my recovery.  Thanks again Mark.

Until next time, be good, hit the wall and have a safe Halloween.

Can anybody guesse what I am going to be for Halloween.  Send me a message with your best guesse and first one to get it right, I will send you out a sweet prize.

Hint- Has to do with this BLOG

Head Strong Tournement - 9:45 a.m. / Monday October 13th, 2008

Whats going on players!

I dont like to get to serious to often but I think that this directly effects all of us.

I sure alot of you noticed high school, college and pro players all over the country wearing neon green laces this summer.  Some of you might have thought these laces where the latest trend in LAX but they were so much more.  These laces represented the Head Strong Foundation.

Nick "Head" Colleluori, a 2004 graduate of Ridley High School (PA), was a member of the Hofstra University lacrosse team when he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After fourteen brutal months, Nick lost his relentless battle to cancer on November 28th, 2006. He was only 21 years old.

The HEADstrong Foundation was Nick's personal vision. During the time that he was enduring chemotherapy, radiation, a stem cell transplant and experimental treatments, he worked on establishing an organization to bring public awareness, raise money for blood cancer research and to help those afflicted by the disease. He drew the logo will waiting for a medical procedure. His family, friends, teammates and supporters have worked tirelessly to see his vision become a reality.

The 2nd annual Nick Colleluori Classic will take place at Ridley High School, Folsom, PA on October 11th, 2008.   The tournament competition will feature top men's college teams including Philadelphia's University of Pennsylvania, Villanova, St. Joseph's, Drexel, Widener, Haverford College and Cabrini among a 14-team field. Also in the field are Hofstra, Maryland, Princeton, Loyola, Penn State, Lehigh and Bellarmine.
At 1:00 p.m. there will be a lacrosse clinic and autograph session given by San Francisco Dragons' players McGlone, Podgajny, Liam Banks and Greg Gurenlian. Sean Dougherty (Washington Bayhawks) and Joey Kemp (Los Angeles Riptide) will also participate along with other professional and post-collegiate lacrosse stars

I am so excited to go up to Philly and check out some great lax but I am even more excited to be a part of this great cause.

Another reason I am excited is because I lived in Philly for 3 years and I get to go see my family and friends.  On Sunday I get to coach my LB3 teams and check out the talent we have for this year.

So its gonna be a great weekend I'll let you know how it all goes.  If you want to check out more about the tournement and the Head strong foundation go to www.headstrongfoundation.org

Last shout out to Jesse Swartzman for coming down to the ATL and dominating.  Thanks buddy

Head Strong Tournement was Awesome - 9:41 a.m. / Wednesday October 8th, 2008

Whats up guys?  I just wanted to check in and tell you about my weekend.  I flew up from ATL to PHL this weekend for the Headstrong tournament.  I got to see a lot of great Lacrosse.  Hofstra had some insane uniforms on to remember Nick and support the Head Strong foundation.  They wore Neon green Helmets, played with Neon Green Heads and had white and Neon Green Jersey.

At the tournament I got to see a bunch of my boys.  Bill Mcglone SF Dragons, Greg the BEAST Guarenlian SF Dragons and Mike POGO SF dragons were all there.  I also got to hang with Joey Kemp LA Riptide, Doc Washington Bayhawks and Brett Moyer from the barrage.  We all put on a free clinic.  I will get some video up soon and I think it is also going to be on Lax United as well.

The Warrior experience was also there.  The Warrior experience is always a lot of fun.  I know Randy donated some Evo Ti heads and shafts to a great cause.  The kids had a blast as always.

After the Clinic we headed over to Brett Moyers house in Ridley and McGlone and I dominated a couple games of Horseshoes.  All lax players are competitive and this was no exception.

On Sunday I got to coach 5 of my LB3 club teams so it was great to see the squads.  This fall should be a lot of fun and hopefully we win some tournaments.

That's about it from here in ATL.  I want to give a couple of shout outs

Mr. POGO- Thanks for the burgers and soda's

JB- Thanks for getting me at the airport

McGlone- Thanks for the much needed trip to your house

Keyser- Always a pleasure seeing you

Moyer Family- Thanks for the hospitality

Randy- Warrior Experience was Awesome

Im Out-  LB3

Liam Banks- Season starts in Oct - 10:42 a.m. / Monday October 6th, 2008

I know it's the offseason and my season doesn't start for a while but I am already getting that itch to get my stick back in my hands.  After the season I like to take a little time off but every time I walk down the hall past that stick, my mind gets racing.  So this weekend I gave into the temptation.  Warrior sent me out the new Evo TI, strung up with a Players Pocket and a Woodrow handle, I picked up the stick went to the wall and starting training.  There is nothing like a good 30 min workout on the Wall to reinforce the repetition, the muscle memory and the hand eye coordination.  So I guess day one of training for Next years Championship run started last weekend.

I'm out

Liam Banks BLOG- WALL BALL - 5:41 p.m. / Thursday August 21st, 2008

When I was young I knew I wanted to be a great lacrosse player.  I knew I would never be the biggest or the fastest but I knew that I would have the best possible stick skills as I could.  I worked my entire life to develop these skills and to challenge myself to be better.  At the end of the day Wall Ball is what helped me to become a professional player.  Check out my Youtube Video on Wall Ball.  It shows some of my technique and talks a little bit about goal setting.
