Hubbard Breaks MLL Scoring Record

With his second goal in the Los Angeles Riptide's 13-9 victory over Philadelphia on Saturday night, Los Angeles Riptide attackman Jesse Hubbard became the all-time goals leader in Major League Lacrosse history. Following a four-goal effort in the victory, the former Princeton University graduate passed Mark Millon and has 242 career goals.

Hubbard scored the milestone goal midway through the third quarter with a power-play marker off a feed from Kyle Harrison. He scored two goals in the fourth quarter to increase his season total to 21 goals.

Hubbard, who spent his first seven seasons with the New Jersey Pride, set the MLL single-season record by scoring 54 goals during the 2002 season. He added another 50-goal effort in 2003 while leading the Pride to the MLL semi-finals.

Millon played six seasons and became the first-ever player to record 200 career goals in MLL history. A two-time Warrior Offensive Player of the Year winner, he earned the Bud Light MVP award along with Baltimore's Gary Gait during the 2005 season after scoring 38 goals with 18 assists.

Millon had his best season in 2003 when he scored 45 goals with 23 assists in just 11 games, earning Warrior Offensive Player of the Year honors. He ended his MLL career with 239 goals, including 4 two-point tallies, and 113 assists.

Hubbard and Millon are two of just four players in league history to score 200 or more career goals. New Jersey Pride attackman Scott Urick has scored 228 goals in his career while Long Island attackman Tim Goettelmann scored the 200th goal of his MLL career against Boston on July 12
